About Salt Therapy
Simply, Salt Therapy is breathing in salty air for therapeutic reasons.
It is a common, completely natural treatment originating in eastern and central Europe and is rapidly gaining popularity in other parts of the world including Australia. It is based on the principle that exposure to the microclimate inside a natural salt mine/cave can play an important role in the relief of many health problems; especially for patients with chronic respiratory and skin disorders.
Dry salt aerosol therapy is 100% drug free and can be used safely in combination with your current medications and treatments to provide relief for your everyday symptoms.
Our Salt Rooms
During a Salt Therapy session, you are invited to relax in our themed Salt Rooms whilst listening to soothing music or reading a book. You don’t have to wear anything special, just your normal, everyday clothes. For clients who have skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, we recommend that you expose those areas. So a T-shirt and shorts would work in that case for maximum exposure. For respiratory ailments, there is no need to expose the skin.
The Adult’s room holds a maximum of 8 people. The allergen-free and negative ion charged room increases the relaxation effect. Feeling totally relaxed is important in slowing your breathing down to encourage deeper, longer breaths. You will benefit as the negative ionized microscopic salt particles reach the innermost parts of your lungs. This is a quiet room perfect for reading or meditation with a focus on breathing.
Our Children’s room is specifically designed for infants and children up to 12 years of age. While your children are receiving their therapeutic treatment, they can enjoy the playroom surroundings complete with books and toys. Children just love playing with the salt-covered floors like the sand on a beach. Children must be accompanied by an Adult in the Salt room.
